Colors of Iceland

This book shows the beauty of Iceland from another angle of view than has been done before. The photographer Thorsten Henn is born in Germany in 1969. He studied photography in Germany and Austria. He first came to Iceland in 1985 and one year later he was a participant in an international expedition where participants walked across Iceland. Thorsten fell in love with Iceland as has lived here for a few years and has his own photographic studio in Reykjavik. In the epilogue Thorsten says: “In this book I have tried to show the beauty of Iceland from another angle of view than has been done before. Instead of photographing known natural phenomenon and famous places I have placed my emphasis on finding the colours that in my mind represent Iceland and also show the country in a new light”. In the preface the famous band Sigur Ros says: “We Icelanders may not see the beauty of Iceland that is all around us every day…And maybe all we need is “foreign eyes” to recognise the beauty…maybe we just need a German to spot what we Icelanders do not longer see and for that Thorsten is probably the right man in the right place”. This book is one of the most magnificent photo books that have been produced in Iceland. Hardcover, printed in high quality and is 128 pages with colour photos. GPS positions are given with each photo.
